Is there a way to preserve hyperlinks in a linked excel file while keeping the table styling in Indesign? I am working on CS6, and I am creating a virtual catalogue, that links products to an e-store, so as I update the linked excel file with new products, I would like to keep the hyperlinks without having to reformat the tables in InDesign.
If I import the excel with formatted table options, the hyperlinks stay but the Indesign styles dissspear and if I import the excel as an unformatted table, the hyperlinks dissapear.
Exactly how is this supposed to work? As an interactive PDF?
You could try the same trick I use in DPS apps. Draw a rectangle with no fill or stroke, convert it to a button and add the hyperlink to that. Put them all on a layer above the table to make things easier.
yes, it becomes an interactive PDF when I export it from InDesign. I was looking for a way so I didn't have to re-copy all the hyperlinks from my excel file into InDesign or onto the PDF file.
Is there a DPS app you would recommend?
