You have to choose a CODEC that supports alpha channels. Not very many do. In Quicktime Land, I like the PNG, Animation and ProRes 4444 codecs... plus the cross-platform DnXHD codec (free download from avid, Mac & Win).
How about AVI? You'll have to wait for someone who uses AVI's. I don't.
im following some video on YT but everyone say

write something on the screen
render the video using alpha + rgb but they don't show results...
if i remove the background deactivating the transparent grid, when i render the video if i open it i will have always my background... even if i choose another BG colour if i render following these tutorials i will see always my background...
can someone post here a guide or write a little guide on how to write something on a trasparent layer that will be saved on a trasparent layer?
