If you are a fan of Excel's Accounting format (which adds left-aligned currency symbols in front of right-aligned numbers) and wish you could maintain (or obtain) that formatting in InDesign, then take a look at "Adobe InDesign: Left-Aligned Currency Symbols with Right-Aligned Numbers" at http://blog.rockymountaintraining.com/?p=2969.

Insert tabs into a table cell :
Info given :
Using the Type tool , place the insertion point where you want to insert a tab.
Choose Type > Insert Special Character > Other > Tab.
or something I read in a specialized InDesign guide
«You can also add a keyboard shortcut that adds a Tab in the Tables context.»
Simply do an option-tab when your cursor is in the cell. Voilà !
I wish there was an "auto-distribute" rows and columns for InDesign like Word........ that's one of the few functional features of Microsoft Office that I appreciate. If you use the Distribute Rows Evenly feature of InDesign, it ends up spreading them out way too much.
