I work on a Mac Pro (2x2.93 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon - 5,1) - 64gig RAM, NVIDIA Quadro 4000 running two displays. I still have the ATI Radeon HD 5770 installed but running both monitors off the Quadro 4000. I am running System 10.6.8 with all CS6 products. With 4 serial 2tb hard drives installed. I need to get solid state, I know.
I am wondering if it is worth upgrading to Mountain Lion or stay with 10.6.8. I've read reviews, several seem insignificant, some down right poor.
On the NVIDIA Quadro drivers. NVIDIA doesn't have them on their site anymore, or I can't find them. I am running driver version: 256.02.25f01 with CUDA driver: 5.0.24. After Effects seems to run fine. Premiere has problems, occasional lock up and then when the program is restarted it won't recognize the drivers and I have to reinstall the video driver and CUDA driver. Has anyone else had these problems?
Does upgrading to Mountain Lion save you from installing the drivers? And is it more stable.
Thanks in advance.
From my google searches it seems that yes Lion has the drivers.
But I've not tested it. I'm current shopping for a nvidia Mac card.
