    Premiere CS5.5 crashes on internal SSD Drive

    john-m-b

      Recently installed a new 128 GB OCZ-VERTEX4 ssd drive on my Mac Pro.  Installed a clean copy of OSX Lion on it and used migration assistant to move all my other  programs over to it.  All the adobe programs run fine on the ssd drive (and faster) but the Premiere CS5.5.  Opening any saved project causes Premiere to crash.  Any solutions.

      Thanks.

      PS. Photoshop CS5.1, Indesign CS5.0, Illustrator 5.0 and After Effects 3.0 work fine.  Only Premiere 5.5 is crashing.  Using Option+Apple+Shift when launching Premiere does not work.  Opening any projects still causes a crash.

          1. What are the full details of your entire I/O sub-system, i.e. all of your HDD's?
          2. How much free space is on the SSD?
          3. Where are your Scratch Disks directed, if you have been able to get that far?

          Good luck,

          Hunt

            =======

            My scratch disks were directed to the SSD but when Premiere started crashing, I redirected them to one of my conventional HDDs.  I also made sure that all Premiere cache files (as set in Premiere preferences) files were being saved on conventional HDD and not on the SSD.  This did not solve the problem.

            Although I have two boot drives, I removed all OSX and application files off of the conventional HDD and only boot from the SSD.  The conventional boot drive only holds data now.  I plan on reformatting the conventional boot drive when I move the data off.  But I do not think this is causing Premiere to crash, but you never know....  Any help is appreciated.
