We are updating a large document that needs to be done using "point pages." This means that if the update adds some pages between pages 62 and 63 of the existing document, then those pages are numbered as 62.1 and 62.2. Does anyone know if there is a way in Adobe FrameMaker to create point pages and have the page numbering done correctly?

There is a deprecated FM command <esc> p z that will freeze pagination in a FM document. All pages are converted to disconnected text frames with auto-connect turned on, so that you can add more content to any page and get a new one flowing immediately after that. However, there are a number of maintnance issues associated with this, i.e, be careful of what you wish for...

Rick Quatro's plugin tries to overcome these limitations and might suit your partticular case. See http://frameexpert.com/plugins/pointpages/ for more details.
