The Premiere 11 file must be downloaded directly via your own browser, not via Adobe Download assistant. Find the direct download page here for anybody interested:
Download Premier Elements_11WWEFD_64.7z
This is the file for 64 bit operation if you have a 64 bit capable computer. Just Unzip this file then click on setup.exe in that file and the installer will be launched.
There is a choice of 32 or 64 bit files to download.
Adobe keeps pointing you to the Adobe download assistant but Premier 11 is not available on this installer! It's a shame that large organisations like Adobe are so sloppy with their customer instructions. This one is really misleading. Please take note Adobe.
Now I can start a Premiere 11 trial to make sure it can cope with my video and my computer on 64 bit working before purchasing.
Which web browsers have you tried with the Adobe Download Assistant. Also what version of the Adobe Download Assistant are you using? I was able to duplicate the difficulties with Internet Explorer 8.0.7601.17514. Although I could navigate to the option to download Premiere Elements 11 under the video selection. Please see the attached screenshot.
