    Roll over problems

    khmay
      ok, here's the problem

      when i make a simple button on one part of the document that displays a picture or text on another part when rolled over, how do i mask the picture/text so that when i scroll over the area where the picture/text is displayed it does not display the picture/text as if i was scrolling over the button?

      seems easy but i dont work too much in flash and havent been able to figure it out today

          1. Create a hit area in the button - that way, the rollover will only occur
          when the pointer is over that area.

          OR

          2. Don't place the rollover text or picture in the button symbol. Create a
          seperate movie clip, stop on frame one. Place rollover items on frame 2.
          Give the MC an instance name.

          Call the MC with the button -

          on (rollOver) {
          myMC.gotoAndStop(2); -- or play if you want to animate
          }

          on (rollOut) {
          myMC.gotoAndStop(1);
          }

          .
