Strange indeed. How did you add your font and how do you load you text. If you are doing it right, you text should be already showing the webfont in your composition.
In the file look how I added the font (right panel). Then you can see that the font is chosen in the left font panel. Then you can see that the font is already showing in the text box.

I have a question: If my font selection is:
<link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Molle:400italic' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
How should I list my font fallback list? Because
displays in sans serif in Edge Animate. However if I publish it, in Firefox the font shows up and in Chrome it does not. (I guess this is ironic because Google's font service isn't being seen in Google's browser.)
Strange. It shows on Chrome on my computer! sans-serif is the fall back but you could add others that are common like arial and helvetica.
I tried several webfonts and they all work for me in Chrome or Firefox. What version of Chrome do you have?
Well I'm not sure this will help the OP's issue, but I fixed my issue. Aparently it is very important (to Chrome at least) to have the exact font fallback given by Google's web font. The Molle font suggested
font-family: 'Molle', cursive;
I didn't want to use cursive and hoped to simply fall back to sans-serif if the font service was not available. Guess you can't do that.
Interesting. I will investigate it to see if there is a work around.
Thanks for the sample.
I added the font in the same way as you described. I get the same problem in CHrome, Firefox and Safari.
Really strange. I never had this kind of problem. Is your font showing on the stage after you add it and select it for your ttext? Could you try loading your text from composition ready?
How do you load the text from 'composition ready'?
Would you mind taking a look at my file in case ive over looked something?
Many thanks in adavece..
When you embed your web fonts in Edge, use single-quote marks instead of double-quote marks for the name in the Font Family section.
That should work.
That didn't work i'm afraid. Should I be adding something to a preloader or some code somewhere?
Many thanks in advance
Nope, no need to add code or anything to the preloader.
Would you mind posting a screen shot of an embedded font from the Library that is failing with the font family and embed code showing?
Okay, I think (hope) that I've found where the problem lies.
Webtype is a bit like TypeKit - when you get a font, you have to enter the domain in which it will be used. For local use in Edge Animate, and when you Preview in Browser from Edge, the domain needs to include 127.0.0.1 (you do this for the font settings from Webtype's site).
Once that's done, it should work in Edge. And ignore what I posted earlier about single quotes.
how do you include 127.0.0.1 in the domain name?
sorry if thats a dumb question!
Thanks I saw where I was going wrong, so included localhost etc in the url field, and it now works perfectly in animate and the test browser. 1st hurdle done.
Now what about indesign and DPS; I bring in the OAM file and test on the iPad but dont get the web font, there is the facility to include optional fonts for HTML
Could I include it there? and if so how??
You have to CSS the font like this:
Safari needs the italic.
