What OS are you using? What printer are you using? Does it work if you save out the file to .psd? Or do you have to use .psb because of file size?
I am using Windows 7 and a Canon MX870 printer. The file size is large, so using a PSB is unfortunately the only way I can deal with it.
Is the file so large because of the physical dimensions and the dpi, or because there are a large number of layers?
Have you tried flattening the image before printing or maybe reducing the dpi?
As Steve says, you're probably exceeding the dimensions of what's printable. What are your image dimensions in pixels and how large is the file when opened (if you go to Standard Screen Mode, Document Size is one of the choices in the popup in the document frame).
