What Adobe application are you opening? Are referring to Flash Player?
I have uninstalled & re-installed adobe flash player, & adobe reader; I have Windows 7 & installed the latest version of Adobe – 10.1
I did try it in Firefox & it worked....what’s up with IE? (9)
Moving this discussion to the Installing Flash Player. If you had problems with Internet Explorer 9 it is likely due to your security settings in that browser.

Could you please elaborate what exactly you are doing?
Please go to the following page: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
If you see animations, your Flash Player is working fine.
Also, ensure that ActiveX Filtering is disabled: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-games-video-or.html#main_2__Disable_Ac tiveX_Filtering__if_you_are_using_Internet_Explorer_9_
thanks so much...I did not have flash player & the active X was not checked.. I am however, still getting error messages from Adobe when I try to open a pdf file....i can, open it in Firefox.....I don’t get it...
