    Updates are not working......

      Via bridge or CS6, on my laptop when I go to updates I get a dialogue box that says "the update server is not responding, the server may be offline temporarily or the internet or firewall settings may be incorrectly set".  Updates worked on my desktop. I have 'allowed' both programs in my norton firewall settings and turned off the firewall temporarily, but still receive the same message. Also tried to download the latest update on line, the files come through, but after unzipping, i get this same message. Thanks for any help!!!

          I posted the answer on another reply, but I know exactly HOW frustrated you must be because I was in the exact boat and felt like throwing my laptop out of a window.  Simply follow the following easy steps:

           

             1. Open Network and Sharing Center
             2. Click Change adapter settings
             3. Right-click the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter, and click Disable.
             4. Open Adobe Reader and Help > Check for Updates

           

          And voila, updates a la Adobe Updater.  Enjoy!
