What graphics card is installed?
GeForce GTX 470
1st, go to the nVidia web site and make sure you have an up to date device driver
2nd, use the nVidia Hack http://forums.adobe.com/thread/629557 - which is a simple entry in a "supported cards" file
And, for future reference, you need to provide more information when you ask a question
One of the things you did not say is Windows or Mac... if Mac, read http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1075592
Thank you. And I will try to provide the right info the next time..
My OS is windows 7 -Program is Adobe Premiere CS5.with 5.0.3 update I have not had any trouble with PP since I installed it in April 2011 until a couple of week ago I still am unable to play the timeline. I installed the latest driver for the nvidia Ge Force 470 video card. There are other updates I can't seem to download like 5.5.2 but will keep trying. When I downloaded update 5.0.3 the renderer in Project settings was no longer grayed out and i was able to click on it but it didn't help. Don't know what to do next..

>can't seem to download like 5.5.2
That is not an update to CS5, that is an upgrade you must purchase... and which is no longer available anyway, with the release of CS6
Going along with what Hunt asked, more file information is needed
