Assuming you're connected to your computer via FireWire, what happens if you use the free download HDV Split to capture your video?
Are you capturing into a project set up for HDV? Which project settings did you select when you set up your project?
If you seriously feel you don't really know what you're doing, I strongly suggest you watch my free 8 part Basic Training tutorial series.
I think the free version only allows DV capture, not HDV.
It is the case for Premiere pro, I suppose it is the same for Premiere Elements.
This seems confirmed by the fact your camcorder is fully recognized when you operate
in DV mode.
Good point, JM. I guess I was not aware there was a free version!
Regardless, if you can edit HDV in Premiere Elements, then you can capture your high-def HDV using HDV Split.
>Premier Elements 10 in the free version
Do you mean you have downloaded and are using the 30-day trial version?
