I can't help with linking stories (beyond saying you can select a story, then usw Place and Link from the Edit menu), but you might also want to consider using Conditional Text and doing the whole thing as a single doc. You can apply a condition to the answers and hide them, then output a second time without them.
Thanks for your help. I'm not sure what you're referring to when you say conditional text. I've used variable text, but I'm guessing this is not the same thing.
Your answer also sparked another thought. Could I just place the teacher stuff on an additional layer and turn that layer off when I print?
Conditional text is text that is marked with a "condition that allows it to be shown or hidden at your discretion. Typical uses are things like price sheets where you might want to wholesale and retail prices, or prices in different currencies, and teachers manuals where the answers are given. By choosing which conditions to show and which to hide you can customize your file for output ini different markets. Read about Conditional Text in the Help files...
A layer you can show or hide is certainly a viable option if the material you want to hide doesn't need to flow in the main text.
