    Audio

I am working on a proof of concept to show to our clients that we can create rich HTLM5 content in edge for both the web as well as iPad's and Android tablets. I have an HTML shell that is loading content HTML screens into it. The content screens play fine on the browsers we need but the audio does not play on the iPad or tablets. What is the best way to get audio working properly for these devices. Also what are the publishing options to get this working properly.

          Hi there,

Edge Animate does not directly support audio yet, and so there are no publish options for it. However, EA does support opening HTML with the audio element in it, and you can also load audio and control it through EA using JavaScript.

Are you trying to autoplay audio on an iPad? That doesn't work as Apple specifically will not allow it. However, you should be able to load an audio player that the user can control. Also keep in mnd that there's no single audio format that will play on all browsers using the HTML audio element - so usually mp3 and ogg compressed formats are embedded into the audio element as sources.
