I shoot footage with a Canon XF30 (typically at 50 mbs). The clips are backed up from the CF card to an external hard drive using the Canon XF utility. These clips are imported into a Premiere Pro CS5.5 sequence. Often the clips span multiple MXF files. On occasion, the audio on one channel drops out for a short period of time (about 8 frames). In the cases I've investigated this occurs at the splice between two MXF files. The video splices seamlessly. The clip audio plays without a dropout in the Canon XF utility. Also merging the MXF files into a single MXF file (using the XF utility) and then importing into Premiere works OK.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Any ideas to avoid the drop outs?
