Installation trouble!

So I'm running Mac OS v. 10.5.8, and I keep getting promted to install the new flash player. I have uninstalled the old flash players, installed the new one, restarted my computer, made sure flash was enabled, restarted computer again--and it still won't work! It's driving me pretty crazy. I don't know what else to do!
