The message is coming from Digital Editions to tell you that the digital
rights settings for the ebook(s) you are trying to copy to your ereader
will not allow copying. This setting is something you cannot fix.
To check this: with Digital Editions open in Library mode, hover over the
small cursor next to the ebook's name. A drop-down message will appear and
it will give you a choice of 'Item Info'. Click on that choice, and
another menu will appear with all of the technical information about the
ebook. The middle of the menu shows the digital rights that the publisher,
distributor or author have granted. I'll bet yours says copying not
You can contact the ebook seller/distributor and discuss this with their
technical support people. Very rarely, but sometimes, they agree to reset
it so you can copy the ebook to your ereader.
Thanks for that - it seems I will have to buy the books again as two of them I haven't read.
Have just purchased a different book & I am still getting the same message - seems I can oly read them on my laptop now.

Whoop ! Went onto Kobo website on reader - bought ebooks from W H Smith - logged into my account & selected book I had purchased, asked me to authorise the reader, did that & was able to download the books again. Happy bunny
