    HOW TO MODIFY  BORDERS IN CELLS/ TABLES

    lm99
      How do i get rid of the double border appearance in my tables/cells?
      I would like my tables to have solid lines not the double line appearance.

      I have been messing around with css to get rid of some of the side borders etc but it still cant get rid of the space between cells so the line still breaks between the cells-ive posted an example of my frustration here: http://www.jadedandstoned.com and http://www.jadedandstoned.com/pg3.html
      You can see that in the main table of products on my homepage i have eliminated most of the borders but i cant get the bottom border to not break between cells...The other page link shows the original state of the table before i tried getting rid of the borders.

      Thanks for your help/advice

          Have you tried going into page properites and setting all the cell padding etc to 0? Did you when you set up the table initially set the padding to o?

            If you want get rid of the borders entirely, set your table border to 0.

            <table width="100%" height="100%" bgcolor="#999966" border="0">

            If you just want a thinner border; assign a class or an id to the table and
            use CSS to define the border.

              I am using dweaverMX
              I dont want to get rid of border entirely.I just want either a single border that wraps around each cell but doesnt give off the double border look OR i just want a bottom border that serves as a solid horizontal line under each row(sale item).
              When i use css i still get a broken border not a solid line-this happens between cells.But i want the border to flow continuously.
              No there is no cell padding currently in the code.
              Maybe a problem is that i have 2 tables nested within tables?

              Im no pro at this.I also notice the pics seem to have a small buffer between the image and the cell holding them-it looks like there are 3 borders around the pictures....this is driving me a little batty also...Ideas?

                  Select the table and set CellSpace to 0 in the properties panel.

                    I still see some border properties here:
                    <tr bordercolor="#0000FF" bgcolor="#CCCCCC">
                    <td width="176" height="104" align="left" valign="middle"
                    bordercolor="#FF9933" bgcolor="#CCCC99">

                    Are you wanting no borders, or only borders on the bottom - I really don't
                    understand what effect you really want :)
