          Have you made any changes to "/Applications/Adobe InDesign CS6/Configuration/XManConfig.xml"? The following is this file from my machine. Please compare it with yours. It should be exactly same except that my locale is "en_US" while yours is "de_DE".

          <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

          <Configuration>

              <VariableForExMan>

                  <Data key="$indesign">$InstallFolder</Data>

                  <Data key="$indesign_user">$UserDataFolder/Adobe/Adobe InDesign CS6</Data>

                  <Data key="DisplayName">InDesign CS6</Data>

                  <Data key="GlobalProductName">Adobe InDesign CS6</Data>

                  <Data key="ProductName">InDesign</Data>

                  <Data key="ProductVersion">8.0</Data>

                  <Data key="HostNameForCSXS">IDSN</Data>

                  <Data key="IconPath">Configuration/Icon.png</Data>

                  <Data key="SupportedInSuite">CS6</Data>

                  <Data key="DefaultLocale">en_US</Data>

                  <Data key="NeedLockableExtension">true</Data>

                  <Data key="ShowInstalledFiles">true</Data>

                  <Data key="Bit">32</Data>

                  <Data key="PreExtensionFolder">$SharedCommonDataFolder/Adobe/InDesign/Version 8.0/en_US/Extensions</Data>

                  <Data key="PluginConfigFile">$UserLibraryFolder/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/Version 8.0/en_US/PlugInConfig.txt</Data>

              </VariableForExMan>

          </Configuration>

          If you cannto find any problem in this file, please generate log files to help troubleshooting. http://forums.adobe.com/message/4275082#4275082 describes how to generate log files.

            I am glad for your answer because i nearly can't sleep if something is wrong on my mac.

            Here is my File - i think it's the same:

            <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

            <Configuration>

                <VariableForExMan>

                    <Data key="$indesign">$InstallFolder</Data>

                    <Data key="$indesign_user">$UserDataFolder/Adobe/Adobe InDesign CS6</Data>

                    <Data key="DisplayName">InDesign CS6</Data>

                    <Data key="GlobalProductName">Adobe InDesign CS6</Data>

                    <Data key="ProductName">InDesign</Data>

                    <Data key="ProductVersion">8.0</Data>

                    <Data key="HostNameForCSXS">IDSN</Data>

                    <Data key="IconPath">Configuration/Icon.png</Data>

                    <Data key="SupportedInSuite">CS6</Data>

                    <Data key="DefaultLocale">de_DE</Data>

                    <Data key="NeedLockableExtension">true</Data>

                    <Data key="ShowInstalledFiles">true</Data>

                    <Data key="Bit">32</Data>

                    <Data key="PreExtensionFolder">$SharedCommonDataFolder/Adobe/InDesign/Version 8.0/de_DE/Extensions</Data>

                    <Data key="PluginConfigFile">$UserLibraryFolder/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/Version 8.0/de_DE/PlugInConfig.txt</Data>

                </VariableForExMan>

            </Configuration>

            And here the PlugInConfig.txt:

            =Path

            =Include

            =Exclude

            =ExcludeRequired

            =MorePluginConfiguration

            One Strange thing:

            If i delet the complete InDesign Folder in my User Preferences - the "PlugInConfig.txt" is the only file which doesn't come back if i start InDesgin after deleting the Prefs......

            I can't create a log file......

            I go step by step throug your advise - but the only thing i get is a 0 KB empty document "ExManLog.YES" in my user folder.....

            The Folder you said (/Users/<UserName>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CS/) is no log file.....

            What next?

              Sorry. The FAQ is not accurate. All "CS" should be replaced with "CS6" in your case. i.e., you should

              change directory to"/Applications/Adobe Extension Manager CS6/Adobe Extension Manager CS6.app/Contents/MacOS" to run command, and find log files in "/Users/<UserName>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CS6/".

                Does your user name contain any special characters?

                      HI Kuhn,

                      There are space characters in the path "/Applications/Adobe Extension Manager CS6/Adobe Extension Manager CS6.app/Contents/MacOS", so the path must be enclosed in double quotation marks. Please follow the command below:

                      home-MacPro:~ harry$ cd "/Applications/Adobe Extension Manager CS6/Adobe Extension Manager CS6.app/Contents/MacOS"

                      home-MacPro:~ harry$ sudo touch ExManLog.YES

                        OK thank you! I will try this when I am back on this machine!

                        Perhaps one thing:

                        Is it possible that the Problem has something to do i splittet the System and the User? I have a SSD with the System and Apps and my User on a second drive (HDD)?

                        Perhaps this causes the Problem?

                          I think it's possible to have something to do with the two disks.
