What are your project settings and set up?
What codec is the Iphone file?
What are the other bugs you have discovered?

3. Re: Iphone 5 footage playing at wrong speed?
Jack Attack Oct 17, 2012 9:43 PM (in response to shooternz)Okay. I have narrowed the problem down. It seems to be an audio codec problem. So If you play back the timeline of my video through my iMac speakers it's fine. If I use my Alesis Multimix 4 soundcard then it plays too fast. i have no idea why. That is how it's working. I don't get this.
My other project is a canon vixia project in PPro and it plays find through my external sound card and speakers. The iPhone project is the one that is acting quirky. Weird.
Here are the specs:
iMac
PPro CS6
Alesis multimix soundcard
iPhone 5 1080p video. (first time working with the new video from this phone. Before I was using iPhone 4 and no speaker issues whatsoever.)

4. Re: Iphone 5 footage playing at wrong speed?
SimonHy Oct 17, 2012 9:59 PM (in response to Jack Attack)I'd check the sample rate of the audio vs the sample rate the Alesis is set to. It sounds like it could be a 44.1khz clip trying to play on a 48khz device. The internal sound card on your imac will automatically switch between the two, so would explain why it's not having the issue.

5. Re: Iphone 5 footage playing at wrong speed?
Jack Attack Oct 18, 2012 6:58 AM (in response to SimonHy)This morning I sit down at the computer and it plays completely fine. I didn't do any changes since you recommended verifying sample rates. Nothing different and now it's playback if fine. Wow. PPro is very buggy. Crashes a lot.
it's probably my fault for running it on a 4gig ram iMac. I am upgrading in January to the 16gig 27" imac and it should take care of a lot of these issues. It seems to just have long rendering and lots of crashes and switching of my audio hardware settings without telling me. Those should go away with more ram and better CPU.
SimonHy, I will still check sample rates today. I have to compress this video right now and get it up on Youtube first. Thanks for the help.
