Not sure if this is doable in Adobe Premiere Pro or not... and I haven't had loads of luck yet finding an answer on my own.
If I record a long event to an SD card, and for every 2GB it splits the file, how do I then import these clips into Premiere as one file with no cuts?
In Final Cut Pro, it's pretty straight forward when doing this, it automatically reads the information on the SD card during Log and Transfer, and merges files that were really one single cut. And then you simply import the single file, as opposed to multiple files with lost data between clips.
Is it possible in Premiere? Good grief, I hope so.
Copy the entire card to your hard drive first. Then use the Media Browser in PP to navigate to that folder. Drill down a level or two and you'll see your clips. PP will automatically see spanned files as a single clip, and bring it in that way.
Thanks guys! I was thinking I had done this before, but we must not have copied enough of the folder structure of the card to get the desired result.
When we get a chance, we'll give this a shot--copying all the content on the card--and then I'll report back a yay or nay.
