p.s. i reinstalled now flash cs6 complete with all updates and air sdk's, but it's still not working
apple is killing my job! ah and i'm using mac lion, not tiger..
I had an issue with java but for windows not Mac. My command lines didn't work with java 7 so i went back to 6 (jdk 1.6) and it worked again.
i've read something like that, but there are no downloadable version java 6 version for mac.. it will be installed automatically with mac updates and it's not possible to undo that..
i restored this files from my timemaschine of 09/2012:
now it's working again, but i cant update my mac in the future.
so it would be nice if adobe makes the ios publisher working on java7, please!
how can I restore this files from timemachine?
If I do a normal restore, the timemachine told me, that this files can not be restored, because it is a systemfile!?

sorry, forget to write: you just have to copy the folders named with "java" of the mentioned paths!!
and i didnt make a regular restore with the time maschine application. i just copied each folder from timemaschine backup storage to the mac system. just overwrite the folder and it will work.
Thanks for your reply, I have copy all folders which contains java from the backup, under /Application/Utilities I found nothing to copy. Know my Flash Builder told me on every start: "Failed to create the Java Virtual Machine.".
Can you list all files or folders, which I should copy?
I've got an application called "Java Preferences" inside the /Applicaton/Utilities/ folder.. so it's very strange that your backup dont have that. Can you find that on another backup or internet?
I'm not on my mac at the moment, but in another topic i've read about that:
/System/Library/CoreServices/Java\ Web\ Start.app/
Great! You missed the folder /System/Library/Java/ in your first post. After copy this folder too, it works again for me.
The Java Preferences.app from the /Application/Utililities folder was not needed in my case.
I have a same problem. Unfortunately, I don't have a backup of the iOS. What should I do?
After updating to Mountain Lion OSX 10.8 I found that Java had been updated to 1.7 and I could no longer compile IPAs.
I was able to revert to Java 1.6 using the following method:
- Go to /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines
- Remove JDK 1.7.0 Developer Preview.jdk (I just moved mine to the Desktop, just in case).
- Launch Flash Builder 4.6 (FB automatically installs Java 1.6.0_37 if it's not on your system)
After this I was able to compile IPAs again.
Note that I have no idea if removing JDK 1.7.0 has any other repercussions to the OS.
I am still having this problem. None of the above has worked for me. I'm totally stuck until this gets fixed! Anyone else have any suggestions??
It's definitely a java version problem. I removed 1.7.0.jdk folder both under following directories and fixed the problem.
I finally got this going after lots of headaches. The problem I was having with some of the above solutions is that Flash Builder could not find or install the JDK 1.6. I had to do some detective work in order to figure out the exact settings. I wrote a blog post on how to get back up and running.
