I'm building a new NLE box with a Nvidia GTX680 as the GPU. I have 3 LCD monitors that I use (desktop, editing, preview). Is there any performance benefit to putting my one of my old graphics cards into the machine? I thought maybe I could just use it for the desktop monitor or something like that?
Or would this just waste power and generate heat for no reason?
No need, the 680 supports up to 4 monitors, so don't add a second card to your system. It only slows it down and may cause incompatability problems.
I am using gtx 680 with 3x 30" monitors and 1x47" with no issues.
these cards are designed for this.
Thank you gentlemen - knew Harm would be quick on this one - I'll follow your rec.
