      Hi

I have import a project made with flex2 into flex3 , the original swf size in flex2 was 440 kb , in flex3:

      1) flex3 compiler 780 kb
      2) flex2 compiler 648 kb

      why ?

If you are compiling with flex builder, by default it gets compiled in the debug mode. You can do "export release build" to build a release swf (which should be smaller in size than the debug swf). the option is available in the project menu.

Flex 3 swf could be slightly bigger than flex 2 swf because of the increase in the framework size (due to additional goodies in flex 3).. but if you are concerned about the swf size.. you should look at the framework cache feature. http://livedocs.adobe.com/labs/flex3/html/help.html?content=rsl_02.html

Using the framework cache feature, you can reduce the size of your swf to much smaller than flex 2.
