Sorry, new to this.
Can't find where to add a further question, so please find below:-
I cannot transfer/copy the downloaded book to the ereader.
It shows the following message -
CE_COPY_NOT_ALLOWED - No permission to copy the book
- when I try to copy it.
I think it has something to do with authorsing the ereader on the Adobe site.
No, the issue is with the digital rights assigned to the ebook you're
attempting to copy.
You can check this. Open ADE in Library mode. Then, hover your cursor
over the small arrow next to the ebook's name. A drop-down menu will
appear, and one of its choices will be 'Item Info'. Click on that, and
another drop-down menu will appear and display the ebook's information.
About the middle of this page is the information on digital rights. It
should show you that copying is not allowed. You do not get around this
situation. You can try going back to the source for the ebook and see if
they have a version you can download that will let you copy the ebook to
you ereader, but not too many folks have had success with that.
Try the following steps (if you are using Windows OS)
1. Navigate to Documents > locate Digital Editions folder and rename Manifest folder as Manifest.old.
2. Deauthorize ADE and Re-authorize it.
3. Try to re-download the ebooks and try to transfer to your ereader.
It worked for me!
Let me know if it works for you too!!
Thank you Yuvraj
I found the manifest folder and renamed it.
How do I deauthorise ADE ?
I am using Windows Vista
Deauthorizing ADE is covered in the HELP section. You press CNTLSHIFTD
at the same time, then close ADE. When you reopen ADE, it will ask you to
authorize it and you input the Adobe ID you wish to use.
Thank you very much, your help is much appreciated.
Kind regards, Gail
Can I clear my email address from Adobe and start again ?
Thanking you in anticipation.
I have gone back to Firefox (I was using this originally) instead of Internet Explorer - and following the help menus I think need to do the following -
