    Visitor counter or Statcounter

    JerryPF Community Member

Is it possible to add a visitor or Statcounter to the home page of a website created in Muse?

Statcounter supply a code that must be inserted just before the end tag of the body code, but unless you export the html and open in Dreamweaver, the code is invisble inside Muse.

I tried using Object > Insert HTML and pasting the code inside the dialogue box, but this gave a small tag on the page that read Incorrect Project ID.

      Thanks, Jerry

          Hello,

If it is a requirement of the code that it has to be inserted at the end of the body tag then I would say the only way to add the code is after exporting it to html.

You can open the exported html pages in any text editor and add the code there or as you suggested, can use Dreamweaver as well.

          Regards,

          Sachin

Usually visitor tracking code like google analytics, statcounter, etc wants to appear near the end of the HTML body so they can more accurately track visitors who load the entire HTML page, and not track those that start to load the page and then cancel it. If you paste your statcounter embed HTML into Muse, and then position the resulting HTML page item near the bottom of the page, that should work fine.

I tried this and got a small html tag (that I could reposition) that said Incorrect Project ID. Maybe the code from StatCounter was wroong. I've had success using the code from Supercounter, and placed the counter where it's required. You can see this on www.dystoniatreks.com
