I frequently have to edit with prores that 's been supplied by my Mac colleagues.
I've imported ProRes .mov files from two sources...from an associate's Apple computer, and from a Blackmagic Designs "Hyperdeck Studio".
Since the Prores file will have been created in an Apple environment, you'll have to deal with the issue of file compatibility between MAC and PC. If given to you on a drive formatted as "ExFat", it should import directly. If given to you on a MAC formatted drive, you'll need to utilize something like MacDrive to import the file.
You'll probably need to install basic "Quicktime" on your PC.
Once the prores file is in PrPro, you can work with it like other intermediate file. In my experience, you won't be able to export it as a ProRes file.
Correct. PrPro PC cannot export Prores.
