I don't know when that might have been true. My first guess is only that person's mind. Yes, you can apply an external CSS file to an input textfield, you can also use internal text formatting. There's a whole section on how to do this in the online help.

I stand corrected. You can't use an external css file with an input textfield. You can use internal text formatting. You can also use an xml file to load in the formatting information and then read that data into a textformat object. I would never do that, but I suppose it's possible.
Its appearing very obviously that i'll have to use textformating.
So looking to read the formating from the css, and convert to text formating
