Well I have already tried to reboot, uninstall, install again reboot, but it is the same thing... so there is no one else thas has problem with Director on Vista?
I just bought a new Vista computer also. My experience is identical to yours. Previously I was using XP, which worked fine. You are not the only one who is having these problems. However, I did find something that may help:
This technote for Encore also fixes this issue with Director:

Right click the Director app, and choose Properties. Go to the Compatibility tab, and click the box for "Run with administrator privileges."
I hope this fixes it.
The link doesn't seem to work, but right-clicking on the Director app and selecting "run as administrator" got it to run. That worked for me.
Hi I also am having problems with Director MX and Vista, all worked fine on XP but shockwave playing in html files is definately not happening, I am upto date with the player but when I open the html file with the dcr embeded it still says newer version required.
