We are currently using InCatalog and InData from Em Software.
It has worked well, but the prototypes can be time consuming to write and it doesn't have much in the way of error checking.
We have been thinking about using Easy Catalog more in our work. Can I ask why you are looking to get away from it?
We have looked at both EasyCatalog and InCatalog in the past. In the end we decided to go with AutoPrice. Support and easy use of interface is what swayed us to go with this product. We've used AutoPrice since 2005/6 when we transitioned away from Quark and decided to have our catalog more automated.
Best of Luck,
We are having problems with EasyCatalog pulling over the correct data from the fields we have assigned to it. It is not very user friendly unless you want to go back to the company and have them write you new scripts when things change... we have several things that change each year so we are running an older version. I know this might be the issue but the company does not want to buy a new version.
I hope this helps, if you have anymore questions please ask.
The only problem is see with AutoPrice is we dont have any pricing in our catalog, it is not a catalog for consumers but a catalog for our sales personnel to reference. It basically has images, highlights, sizing and logos.
The AutoPrice software is misleading by name..It can update any piece of information that is in a datafile. We do use AutoPrice for pricing however we will be using this program to build pages once our IT department is able to provide us with a file that contains the related data to the products. We've seen this work with demonstrations they've provided us in the past and will be talking with them again sometime in early 2013. Have you seen the custom demonstrations they present?...Kim
I have not seen any custom demonstrations by them, im always learing of having to "sign up" for things online in order to get demonstrations, ive been bombarded with tons of junk email before by doing this. Since you have used this program can you tell me if i can have my data pulled from an excel document in order to use this program? Basically our information is entered into a specific program that was written for our business. In the past we have had to extract data from this program, run it through yet another program and then convert it to excel document... Hey at least we are able to work with it... lol Trying to find an easier way
