I am using PP CS5. I just received HD files from a client which are MOV's. I do not know the camera these files were captured from or how they were transferred to drive, but I am unable to view them on my computer or import them into PP.
I downloaded Gspot and it indicates the codec is xd5b. I am working in Windows 7 64 bit.
Trying to figure out what I need to do or download so I can import them into PP.
Several hits in Google http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sclient=psy-ab&q=codec+xd5b&oq=codec+xd5b&gs_l=hp.1.0.0i30j0i 8i30l2.2688.6395.0.10184.108.40.206.0.0.0.170.484.1j3.4.0.les%3B..0.0...1c.1.UNbd5zz2mFA&pbx=1& bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=6ecf6aae94a81231&bpcl=36601534&biw=1530&bih=579
I don't work with MOV files so I did not do any detailed reading, but just the few lines I did read indicate this MAY be a Mac only codec
It's the Apple flavour of the XDCAM codec. It's not available on PC, you need FCP installed to work with it.
BUT, you can get a decoder for it from CalibratedSoftware.com, which will let you import and play the files.
