I have some long DV clips converted from VHS tapes I imported (some between 30-60 minutes. PPro doesn't like them once I start editing even with a P4. 3.2ghz, 6gb ram and Digital Raptor drive. I tried the Scene Analyzer which is exactly what I need to break it into manageable clips (optical - 2 -5 minutes per clip is fine by me) but you can't even buy it now.
Is there another tool. I could do it manually with Premiere Elements or PPro but I want something automated that will split the things into a zliooin clips I can then piece into something I Can work with.
DV Date might be able to split it up. Check it out.
Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded and tried it but it tells me all my .avi files, which play fine in others players, are of a type not recognizable by DVDate. So I couldn't get very far. It seems to also only recognize .avi where Scene Analyzer would take many file types.
Will play with it some more but so far not making it.
