instead of just blindly replying to post, perhaps try reading what it is that I wrote before attempting to solve a problem I was never having ;-))
I did NOT say that white input does NOT default or go to 255.. I said, and that clearly "Black Input"
In case you are new to levels... Raising Black Input to a value of 255 will set the whole image to black.. Unless clipping occurs.
There are quite a few sources on the web describing what levels are there for
Might I add that the fast color corrector's levels are working as they should
It's just how the effect works. The sliders and the numeric fields do have some quirks (e.g. you can't swap the positions of black and white with the sliders but you can by typing in the numbers) but they won't allow full-range on the B and W inputs, and from what I remember they never did
Neither will the FCC - I'm looking at it now and the input sliders also stop at 2* and 253.
* it appears you can drag the W input point to 1 but if you touch any of the other fields the W value will change to the real value of 2.
yeah but drag the black input to 253 and the image WILL turn black. Do that on the 3 Way and it will NOT at all go black.
Nothing like it...
This thing is so busted
I have to admit that I misunderstood the problem. I am not new to levels, I just got a little careless. My apologies.
The majority of the questions on this forum are either from people who need basic help or are having problems that are specific to their setup.
This one is an advanced question and I blew it. It happens. Sorry about that.
Edit: And yes - it is busted
