Well, it's been some time since I installed my version of Photoshop, three years and never had a problem. In May I installed a prelease evaluation of Windows 8 and Photoshop continued to work nicely as before. Yesterday I installed the full version of Windows 8 and peculiarly this install didn't transfer my applications and programs. Instead there was a Windows.old folder. Now I'm at a loss what to do because this version was a download version and I have no idea where the file is or where the serial number might be. I'm sure this would solve my license issue.
I've tried the solutions from Adobe support to no avail.
Everything is on my computer. I just want to know where the files should be correctly placed.
If you had downloaded it, you should have an e-mail in your registered e-mail id with username and password to access Adobe's 'My Registered Products' online. You can re-download your installer and also check your serial number online for a fresh re-install. That is what is recommended as trying to 'move' files manually will cause problems.
I followed your instructions carefully.
I had to rack my brain for my login for Adobe Store several years ago but eventually it proved positive.
I got the serial # from registered products and the download the file from my orders which after clean up and re install was the total solution to my problem.
I am happy to inform you that my photoshop is working.
My sincerest thanks.
Glad your problem is now resolved. Thanks for posting back.
