I am having a weird issue that I hope someone can help me with.
I am color grading footage in Adobe SpeedGrade and outputting it as Apple ProRes 422 LT files. I am taking those files and denoising them and building basic rough cuts in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. From there, I am attempting to output them via File > Export > Media with the following settings (attached a screen shot). When I try to open and watch that video on my Mac Pro (10.8.2 Moutain Lion) I get the following error (attached image). I have even tried changing the file extension to .MOV instead of .M4V, doesn't solve it.
Is it an issue with my initial output from SpeedGrade being Apple ProRes 422 LT? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. The files were shot with a Canon 5DMKII if that helps.
It seems that a new 'bug' was introduced with the 6.0.2 update, wherein exporting out an MP4 without audio will produce an M4V file. It's not uncommon for players to not handle that file type. Under Windows, I've found only one free player that could handle them. You may have to do some research to find one for Macs.
Thanks Jim! I tried outputting it with audio and it worked. Then I changed the file extension to .MOV instead for ease.
