Single Source for Windows, Mac and Print

I am new to everything that is involved in help authoring and trying to digest enormous amounts of information from many different sources. I am commited to producing help files for Windows, Mac OS and a file suitable for sending to print. A single source project makes the most sense and I have recently started using RoboHelp HTML as my help authoring tool.

I would like to generate a Mac Help book rather than use a browser to view the help files as is often suggested as a solution to providing cross platform help.

I believe other RoboHelp users are doing this but would like to ask them what output from RoboHelp they start with and what additional processing they do before using the Apple Help Indexing Tool. I don't have the experience yet to draw this information together from the documentation I have. An insight into the steps required would be much appreciated.
