Our company has recently switched from Apple Studio to Adobe CS6. We usually make smaller versions of our videos to put on our server for our client, and of course we use the fast start setting to avoid complaints about loading, etc.
I've done some research, and I can't find anything about Media Encoder that will give me that same fast start setting. I made a preset with the following settings, but it's just not working on our servers:
Limit data rate: 5000 kbps
Audio AAC Stereo 48khz
Does anyone know where I can get these settings with a FAST START through Adobe Media Encoder CS6?
Don't use that. Use the normal MP4 container instead.
But a normal mp4 container has to buffer the entire file before it starts playing (at least in my experience). I make a lot of hour long videos for the web (not my choice but there you are). Without fast start they are fairly useless to most people.
has QuickTime depricated fast start in it's QTX? yet another reason to dislike it if it has
I wonder if this is more a function of the player used on the page than the actual file, as my MP4s always start right after a short buffer.
