Hi John, thanks for your suggestions. I have gone to the links you mentioned and have added an image from MediaInfo. I hope this is what you were asking about.
This is the video portion of the output.
And this is the audio portion.
I have tried to export into a variety of file types and get the same result each time. The video is about 2 seconds ahead of the audio.

John, I appreciate the links but I think a more fundamental question is whether I should be going to WMV in the first place.I tried wmv and I tried AVI but still have the problem. My source is AVI witha codec id of MJPG. That's the output from my laptop webcam..
