Steven L. Gotz Nov 11, 2012 12:49 PM (in response to John Ellenberger)I have a few styles I created, so I just click on the style and then click on the text tool, click into the title and start typing.
After you get the font the way you want it, select some of the text and create a new style. Then drag the icon for the new stle up to the top row of the style library. Save the library.

JSS1138 Nov 11, 2012 3:49 PM (in response to John Ellenberger)I have no problem changing the font first. (Windows 7 & 8)
List out the exact steps you take here.

Bill Hunt Nov 11, 2012 8:22 PM (in response to John Ellenberger)When you have created the first Title, with the Text, as you desire, just create a new Style.
For all later Titles, just apply that Style, to make all settings, what you have designed, just as Steven has done.
Good luck,
Hunt

Jon-M-Spear Nov 12, 2012 4:02 AM (in response to John Ellenberger)'Fraid that I don't have a solution, but I find it infurtating that Premiere has never offered a default font option. Mine always defaults to Abigail, even though I have never used it.
Photoshop and After Effects seem to save the last font used to the prefs file.
I feel a feature request coming on.

With insufficient detail. I mean every step, in sequence.
1. Open titler.

ScubaBadger Oct 18, 2013 4:20 AM (in response to John Ellenberger)I find this highly annoying too.
Yes - I can manually change the font selected - which on mine is "Abigail" (and to make it worse my version of Abigail is corrupt), but I shouldn't have to waste this time on every tile I make.
I would much prefer to be able to set my programme preferences to open new titles with my preferred font auto selected - not something that appears to be at random.

Cenpic Jan 30, 2014 1:21 PM (in response to John Ellenberger)This is how I removed Absalom from my font list:
To remove a font from the hard disk, follow these steps:
- Click Start, and then click Run.
- Type the following command, and then click OK:
%windir%\fonts
- Click the font that you want to remove. To select more than one font at a time, press and hold the CTRL key while you select each font.
- On the File menu, click Delete.
- When you receive the "Are you sure you want to delete these fonts?" prompt, click Yes.
Note You can prevent a font from loading without removing it from the hard disk. To do this, move the font from the Windows\Fonts folder to another folder.
