    Assigning a Binding on-the-fly?

    Handycam Level 1
      I have an app with some screens (in a viewstack) sharing one component. Each of these components has a a datagrid. As users can change the data, I need to have this DG bound to a variable, which I reference elsewhere in the app.

      In past projects, I had the binding right in the datagrid's MXML: dataProvider="{app.myVariable}"

      But I want to "assign" it to the component from the main app's actionscript, as in:

      screen1.myDataGrid.dataProvider = myVariable

      I've done this before, but will this be a binding or a one-time assignment? How do I make it a binding?
