Incoming RSS Feed

Hi All

I am trying to create a webapp that can pull in multiple RSS feeds from various places and then display them as a news articles on clients websites. A lot of firms use this method as they do not have the time to create fresh content, so accountants may have feeds coming in from the tax and emlpoyment offices and then these are displayed as news articles on their websites.

Has anybody done this?

Can somebody point me in a direction of where to start.

It is the input side I am struggling to get my head around, how do I get a webapp to send requests and update my RSS display and how to presnt it!

Any help or directions to other articles where this has worked would be grateful.

Is your client fully aware this will create duplicant content and harm the search ranking of both their site and the site they are duplicating the content from in doing this?

They are aware of this, it was mainly going to be for the news articles about changes to the accounting industry.

Unfortunatley I havent been able to resolve it, it is one of the many things to address on my forever growing task list! If you have any tips it would be very helpful.

I used Google Feeds on this site to pull in rss feeds of job openings.

If you have multiple RSS feeds you could use Yahoo pipes to filter, sort, modify and combine them into a single feed: http://pipes.yahoo.com/

Hi Guys,

thanks for the support. I have a RSS feed on a page working already, what I want to try and do is open that feed in my website.

There are companies which sell content for accountants, i want to bring this feed into my website and then display it as contebt on my website.

Not sure if that makes sense?

Check this out - http://code.google.com/apis/ajax/playground/#load_feed

The implementation is really straight forward, you only need to change the feed's URL and the placeholder that will be populated once the feed is retrieved.

Thanks for your help, I have no idea on how to implement this, but I willc ertainly give it a go and see if i can figure it out. I am still very new to this "web stuff" as people like to clal it.
