Todd_Kopriva Nov 13, 2012 3:53 PM (in response to JSS1138)As Jim's answer indicates, some codecs enforce specific dimensions. Most relevant here is the fact that codecs intended for television are strictly constrained to the sizes for television standards. You have chosen an NTSC (National Televison Standards Council) codec in the Video Codec menu, which gives a rather strong hint that this is one such constrained codec.

I just tried QuickTime, Custom and H.264. I could change the height to my desired 540. But it didn't help.
On the contrary. The black bars grew wider.
What codec (and dimensions) would you recommend?
