To answer your question directly, don't mess with the camera's transform properties. No fooling.
Instead, make a 3D null, parent the camera to the null, and animate the null's position. Life gets better.
And don't try to use AE intuitively, or from a couple of tutorials on YouTube made by high school kids. You'll only hose yourself. Go here and qet quality information from people who know what they're doing.

so I understand you correctly are you saying “Don’t Move the Camera” at all. But instead create a 3D camera then create a “null’ and parent the camera to the null and then “Only” move the null? Is this correct? I believe this is a great method to do it but please explain why? Thanks for the link too I will take a look after work.
