Muse site publishing failures -- case number 4882389 : 3 issues
5iveMEDIA Nov 20, 2012 12:59 PMI'm having a problem with an e-commerce enabled Business Catalyst Site.
Please see attachment:
The site is originally designed suing Muse / Dreamweaver / Photoshop / Illustrator.
Muse publishes the html. < please see --> Hangar9kc.com-MUSE-setup.jpg >
Some tags from BC are included in two of the pages that Muse outputs.
Of the two pages, one is a "ticket packages" page... http://www.hangar9kc.com/packages.html
The packages page includes 3 embedded tags as html:
1. the single admission ticket: which uses {module_product,353563,
6846513}
2. The single Helicopter ride: (See the others on attached file, "BC-products-tags-packages.jpg")
3. The couples Romantic Helicopter ride: " "
The other page that currently has BC tags is the page intended as a default template for the site in BC. It just contains the common content tag. It seems to work fine.
While the product tags also link up nicely to the cart, and the site works great most of the time...
The major problem that happens is when muse does a fresh publish.
When that happens; there is a form that is an e-commerce form in the BC back end which handles credit card processing that is wiped out. Thus, the ability to purchase is broken. The workaround has been to re-create the form and add it back to the page: order_registration-US.html .
I'd like to know a way to be able to make my edits that are quick visual edits such as, add a couple credit card graphics, or an authorize.net logo, or change the size of a font, add some sponsors to the partners page, add a social media badge like twitter & a twitter feed... without breaking my e-commerce and loosing time, money.
You won't know there is a problem after a muse publish, until you try to actually check out.
See the below excerpt from a user of the site attempting to buy tickets that explains the error message.
"Hi I'm trying to purchase some tickets online and after I submit all the required information and click on the submit button an error message arises that says "we have to delete our previously filled out web form" I don't know what this means. What can I do to fix this? Thanks Jason"

Could some assistance be made ready or advice offered?
Thanks for your help,

Then I got this response...

"
Whenever you publish via Adobe Muse to a BC website, it deletes the existing forms and just leaves the forms which were created directly via Muse form widgets or the forms which have been submitted (once or more) through the frontend of the website.
So in your case the workaround would be to go to the page where the form has been added and fill and submit the form from the front end once. Once you do it, a case will be created in Business Catalyst associated to the form and then you should be able to publish via Muse without letting the form being deleted.

1. After you've looked at Surjeet's response about using the front end to "submit and create a case" for the form, please see this video.

Then, please see this one about a 404 error. Not being able to publish. " Error: Internal error: 404 Not found. (116001) "
http://screencast.com/t/dkHuUhkiX
The error in the muse publish looks like this:
Any help is appreciated as really I've got three issues.
1. The webform in BC is getting deleted by muse publish.
2. Now, Muse won't publish.
3. I can't post to the task with adobe to reply as you can see in the video.
Thanks for any help, assistance and / or advice...
We've fixed the fact that the e-commerce won't work a few times and can patch it again... the real issue is to get a more clear response about what steps to take in order to not have the form delete (once we can actually publish again from Muse successfully).
Thanks and god speed.
