Hello everyone, i have been notified that my site has a malware bug and so i have taken the following steps.

1. Changed password to [REMOVED BY MOD]

2. Via FTP removed as much of the site that it would allow me to

3. Uploded just a home page only from muse

4. tested - it still seems to be there

Im not sure what else to do, tech support suggested to delete my entire site but I cant do that as I use IMAP email and i dont want to lose all my emails.

Any help would be awesome

The company that told me about it said this...

Greetings,

AusCERT has received advice from a reliable source which indicates that

your website may have been compromised and had malicious code inserted

in it. This malicious code could infect visitors to your website with a

computer virus.

Failure to remove all the malicious code could result in search engines

and web browsers blocking visitors to your website and possibly

displaying a message like "This site may harm your computer" besides

your website in any search engine results. This could have an ADVERSE

EFFECT ON YOUR BUSINESS.

The URL(s) that we have been informed of and that you are listed as a

contact for are detailed below. Please confirm malicious content in the

URL(s) before taking any action.

**  PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THE SITE(S) BELOW WITH A WEB BROWSER  **

**    AS THIS MAY RESULT IN YOUR COMPUTER BEING INFECTED      **

Hi Rebecca,

I will forward this to our development team for futher investigation.

Normally, if you have removed the previous content and uploaded a fresh copy from Muse, it should be fine. Also, it's a good thing that you've changed your password.

I'll be in touch via the original case you've opened with support, and this forum as soon as I have more details from the development team.

Thanks and regards,

I have the same issue with my Muse website.  The site is redirecting because of something in the html export.  I couldn't find it, I think it may be something that I have embedded...  I have attempted to remove any third party embeds, but the problem is still there.

My host provider has removed the issue on their end, but SEO and search results don't seem to load anything up properly through google search.

If you have accessed the admin part of the website and added content or edited content - Clear in there. This is often caused by mailware and plugins injecting code into the WYSIWYG editors. (Content editor areas)
