Upgrading from CQ5.3 to CQ5.5 and it appears when creating groups and users, there is a new restriction on the IDs. The creation dialog restricts these textfields to the type, "authorizableId", which only allows lower case letters, digits, underscore, "_", and dash, "-", characters.
What are the ramifications of just moving our current user and group IDs, which have upper case letters along with space, equal, "=", and comma, ",", characters?
If I have to make my IDs comply with the new restrictions, does anyone have any strategies for dealing with this issue?
The textfields also take the "@" and "." characters. I should know better than just reading the comments in the code (VTypes.js).
However Jackrabbit user management API don't enforce any constraints. So Overlay & modifies the 'authorizableId' vtype in order to allow uppercase, space.. AFAIK it should not impact.
