Re. CS5 InDesign, can someone please help me to manually adjust the leading for a particular font who's 1pt auto lead increase is way too large for the 1 pt font increase I wish to affect? This font's leading only increases or decreses by 1pt, but I'd like to be able to change by half or quarter points. Is there anyway to do this without changing font (which I'm unable to do due to branding issues). http://img607.imageshack.us/img607/4749/fonthelp.png <— Here's an image displaying my problem in case my explanation is a bit confusing.
Appreciate any help, thanks.
Just a guess here, but is your type locked to a baseline grid? If you look at my screenshot, I have 9pt type with 11.25 leading in the first column, and 10pt type with 12pt leading in the second. Both retain the same position, but the third column goes crazy the way your example is. That's because the leading is set to 12.25, which puts it past the 12pt baseline grid, and forces the type to snap to the next available line in the grid.
I've circled in red where to check for the Lock to Grid.
You are a legend. Yes my type was set to basline grid, I've now adjusted the baseline pt size and it's all good. Thank you so much!
