1. Re: Change the Image Resolution of the already saved image file

To find the current resolution of your image, follow these steps:
With your image open in Photoshop, Image > Image Size (Like you've already done earlier).
Check the resolution as shown above. If it doesn't show 300, enter 300, hit OK and 'Save' your image.
Open the file and check again. If it still shows 72, post back with more details of the type of file you're trying to open in Photoshop and if possible, a screenshot so we can help.

charles badland Nov 30, 2012 5:17 AM (in response to ramviswa123)And another one thing, If open one small image in photoshop and change that resolution.
After that I Zoomin the image was very blured.
Viswa,
Detail in a photo has to happen at capture - when the image is taken with a camera or scan. You cannot add detail later just by increasing the PPI. As you see, it will become blurry.

Sudarshan Thiagarajan Nov 30, 2012 7:23 PM (in response to ramviswa123)+1 Charles on that.
Even if your actual image is 300ppi, if you zoom into it at more than 100%, it will deteriorate as there is no pixel data to upscale the image.
Considering you're upscaling a 72ppi image to 300ppi, you can't expect much. It will blur/ pixelate. Period.
If you want to avoid this, shoot at high res. Get a nice DSLR of some sorts. They're cheap nowadays and if your day-to-day work demands 'photography', your investment is justified right there.
